Homework Policy

Homework is an essential part of the school process, and some homework will be assigned on a regular basis. 

Kindergarten- homework will consist of assignments designed to allow parents the opportunity to reinforce the learning that takes place at school and will last approximately 20-30 minutes.

Grades 1 & 2- assignments will be designed to allow parents the opportunity to reinforce the learning that takes place at school and will also allow for independent practice that also reinforces the learning at school.

Grades 3 through 5- homework will not exceed one hour in length. Note: For grades 3-5, work that is not finished in class might be collected by the teacher. At the teacher’s discretion a class assignment may be completed at home. Students will not be allowed to take incomplete work home, but may be able to begin their assignment where they left off in class.

Grades K-5, homework will be assigned Monday through Thursday. At all times, teachers will make an effort to ensure that homework is relevant, necessary and reinforcing. Teachers will maintain communication with other teachers to ensure daily homework assignments are balanced within the curriculum.
